Installation

Windows

1. Download the .exe installer
2. Run the installer and follow the prompts
3. Launch GitGUI from your Start menu

macOS

1. Download the .dmg file for your processor
2. Open the DMG and drag GitGUI to Applications
3. Launch from Applications or Spotlight

Linux

AppImage:

chmod +x GitGUI.AppImage
./GitGUI.AppImage

Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo dpkg -i GitGUI.deb

Activation

After installing, you'll need to activate GitGUI with your license key:

1. Launch GitGUI
2. Enter your license key (received via email after purchase)
3. Click "Activate"

Your license is validated once, then works offline.

Updating

GitGUI checks for updates automatically. When one's available, you'll see a notification. Click to download, then restart to apply.

Troubleshooting

App won't start

• Check you meet the system requirements
• Try running as administrator (Windows) or check permissions (macOS/Linux)

License activation fails

• Check your internet connection
• Make sure there are no extra spaces in the license key
• Email support if it still doesn't work
